All,

Freidrich Engels and Karl Marx wrote a little book some of you may have heard of. What you may not know is that Engels provided a full set of illustrations to the Manifesto, depicting graphically many of the ideas espoused within. Marx, being a fiercely proud man, decided that the illustrations detracted from the text and the luxuriousness of his fine beard and cut them at the last minute. Its a shame, the one where the worker with relationship issues quipped hilariously about the opression meeted out by the owning class while stomping on buildings and ladies would have brought a greater depth to the understanding of communism. It was also funny.

Having learnt the lessons of history, myself (a resident of Perth, Australia) and a Ms Lisa Max (hailing from Vienna, Austria) have decided to launch a collaborative project but with a strong sense of neither of us being the 'Engels', the 'Aldrin' or the 'Garfunkel'. Given that the price of Livejournal is free, that is where we have decided (currently) to put things. 'I've lost my house!!' is the name for the project that we chose from tens of thousands of potential names, symbols and sound effects. It means whatever you want it to mean... unless its a stupid meaning... so don't choose a stupid meaning. It doesn't have anything to do with playing cards. Feel free to submit your meaning to ilmh@mail.com so that you can be given permission to make yourself look insightful and knowing about whatever you come up with.

The project primarily features words made by me, Jarrad Robb and pictures made by Lisa, all mashed together. If you see a crudely drawn stick figure war-scene, where there's ballpoint blood everywhere, you can safely assume that I contributed the art on that occasion. ILMH is more sketchpad than glossy over-priced inner-city-cafe-pandering 'thanks, I'll also grab a copy of adbusters and a copy of the Economist which I read to better inform my own critique' quasi-fashion magazine. Don't expect dollops of freshly churned genius all the time. But do expect it some of the time.

At any rate, we hope you enjoy it, and that it gets us work somewhere. Mostly that it gets us work.

Jarrad Robb and Lisa Max
*DATE*
